Her chest rises and falls just so;
Her hair spread around her like a halo.
Beneath her, one arm, the other, akilter,
Her head lying softly on her pillow, this
Pretty Little Kittie.
I sit there, quietly, watching her breathe
A faint little snore, then a little heave.
Her eyes flicker open, but only for a second,
then back shut, the long lashes cleave, what a
Pretty Little Kittie
She rolls over, a flurry of motion,
but still, her beauty unbroken.
now back to serenity, still calm being,
perfect tranquility, stirring emotion...
Pretty Little Kittie.
I glance at the time, and realize(quite suddenly)
I've sat for an hour, and think(quite woodenly)
"Hafta go to work, my god I'll be late!"
And with one more quick glance, I quietly leave her:
